Abstract

In a previous study into pharmacological compliance amongst ambulatory Black children it was observed that there was a patient noncompliance rate of 45,5 per cent. The study also revealed a high incidence of physician non-compliance and delineated problems such as inappropriate prescribing and a lack of communication between prescribing physicians and pharmacists. As a result of the!>e observations, a further study amongst 200 Black adult patients was performed.
