Abstract

Trichomonas vaginalis infection is widespread in both males and females throughout the world and various techniques are available for the laboratory diagnosis of this infection (Brown, 1972; Jirovec and Petri, 1968). Recently it was decided to compare the value of the newly developed diagnostic technique of Fripp, Mason & Super (1975) which utilizes Acridine Orange-O stain and ultra-violet microscopy, with the more conventional techniques of Giemsa stain, direct smears and culture.
