Abstract

The main deep fungal and systemic mycotic infections seen over a period of -ten years in Rhodesia are recorded. The main clinical and pathologjcal effects of each are briefly descriptionbed. The infections encountered included North American blastomycosis, chromoycosis, sporotrichosis, cryptococcosis, mycetoma, pseudomycetes infection (nocardiosis and actinomycosis), phycomycosis, mycotic abscesses, favus, rhinosporidiosis, histoplasmosis including Cave disease (benign pulmonary histoplasmosis).
