Abstract

Surprisingly, with a complete aortic block from below the renal axis, patients may survive for several years (Downs, 1974). Leriche and Morell (1948) point out gangrene is inevitable in lower limbs but not necessarily immediate, severe ischaemia being the presenting symptoms. Four cases are examined.
