Abstract

In connection with termination of pregnancy it is claimed that ethical standards change. It is also claimed that termination is a new safe procedure. However, in the past, as now, termination was probably about as safe as proceeding to full term, both types of obstetric management having become infinitely safer. Ethics of course are always open to discussion � we are often wrong. But I hope the principles do not change. I do not believe that the medical profession as a whole has become corrupt with its new powers. But there are, however, several examples of meddlesome medicine.
