Abstract

The presence of microbial contaminants in pharmaceutical products can comprise a serious health hazard to patients. It is well nigh impossible to ask and ensure, that all classes of pharmaceutical preparations are manufactured sterile and maintained in that condition. It is possible, by correct formulation, preparation, preservation, storage and administration, to ensure that the challenge to the patient at risk is reduced to the minimum.
