Abstract

Dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans is a slowgrowing mesenchymal tumour of the skin. It arises from the modified neural supporting cells and has a marked tendency for local recurrence, but distant metastasis is rare. Radical excision with primary skin-grafting is the treatment of choice. Neither radiotherapy nor chemotherapy plays a significant role in its management.
