Abstract

Two cases of Foetal Transfusion Syndrome are reported, the differences in haemoglobin levels being 6,6 and 11,5 g% respectively. In each case the recipient or polycythaemic twin had respiratory distress and cyanotic attacks relieved by venesection. The differences in weight were 3% of the larger (donor) twin in the first set and 5% of the larger (recipient) in the second set suggesting that the syndrome was of the acute type in both cases.
