Abstract

Throughout Africa there is a widespread use of plants for medicinal purposes amongst all races. Its extent has not been fully investigated as far as numbers or the uniformity or not of symptom treatment or self treatment regimes are concerned. Five local indigenous herbs (two trees and three plants) were used in this survey in a rural area of Natal to gather some facts about them.
