Abstract

Knowing that n'anga conduct their medical practices in the townships of Greater Salisbury we decided to interview 50 practising n'anga in their place of practice. We were interested to learn whether they were engaged on a full-time or part-time basis, whether they operated from their homes or had rooms and whether they visited the sick. We also decided to ask each one interviewed what were the ten most common ailments they were called upon to treat.
