Abstract

Jaundice is a common accompaniment of congestive cardiac failure in the African. It was seen in 10% of cases in the series studied. It would appear in any form of cardiac disease. The factor or factors leading to icterus is not clear, but is probably of hepatic origin. The intensity of the jaundice varies from slight to marked.
