Abstract

Fear of God has probably dampened fewer experiences of sexual ardour than has the fear of pox, and this latter fear is being continually re-inforced by the newer and less easily cured and indeed incurable diseases. The latest plague, herpes genitalis, has recently gained its well-deserved position as top of the pox, and is, at present, incurable and likely to remain that way in the foreseeable future. Herpes Simplex is the commonest virus infection encountered in man.
