Abstract

1. The incidence of diagnosis of pulmonary and non-pulmonary tuberculosis in Govemmenthospitals in Harare is investigated for the period 1975-81. 2. Findings are compatible with a rising incidence of tuberculosis. 3. A slight change in the pattern of presentation since 1967-9 is evident. The proportion of bone/joint TB has recently been higher, and that of lymph node, military and genito-urinary TB lower. 4. The pattern in the non-white ethnic groups of England and Wales suggests Zimbabwe presently encounters a lower proportion of lymph node tuberculosis, and a higher one of miliary and central nervous system tuberculosis.
