Abstract

An analysis' of children referred to a Clinical Psychologist was undertaken. Children who were felt to be clinically disturbed on initial interview were further assessed by means of the Rutter Child Scale, completed by the parents. Analysis of the questionnaires revealed that most children scored in excess of the standard cut-off point. These differences were significant and indicate that the base rates for psychological disturbance in Zimbabwe are similar to those reported in' previous studies.
