oa Central African Journal of Medicine - Primary hepatocellular carcinoma presenting as haemobillia: report of a case

Abstract

Haemobilia is a relatively rare manifestation of hepatobiliary disease. Even rarer is hepatocellular carcinoma causing haemobilia. A case of haemobilia due to primary hepatocellular carcinoma of the liver is presented. The patient had cirrhosis of the liver as well. Unsuccessful surgical treatment by hepatic artery ligation and common bile duct exploration is descriptionbed. There is a review of the literature.
