Abstract

We descriptionbe the technique and results in 56 consecutive colonoscopies in Harare, and suggest appropriate indications for this procedure in a developing country. A retrospective analysis of hospital patients with colonic diseases confirms the low incidence of inflammatory bowel disease and colonic polyposis in Zimbabwe.
