Abstract

European boy, aged 16 years, developed acute trypansomiasis after a visit to the Zambezi Valley. He contracted an acute erythematous- maculo-papular eruption with some resemblance to that of measles or tick- bite fever. It cleared after some days. The patient was treated with Suramin and cortico-steroids. The purpose of this paper is to descriptionbe the diffuse erythematous eruption which may develop during the acute stage of trypanosomiasis.
