Abstract

Although umbilical hernia is relatively common in the African, most cases are not associated with symptoms. A situation where a gravid uterus enters the hernia sac is one of the rarest complications of umbilical hernia. We report two such cases, one of which was further complicated by dehiscence and ulceration of the overlying skin. Both patients had successful assisted vaginal delivery. A brief review of the literature is presented.
