Abstract

Recent studies on the pharmacokinetics of parenteral chloroquine and quinine have resulted in safer regimens for the treatment of severe falcipamm malaria. In this article we summarise these regimens, and discuss the emergence of chloroquine resistance and the implications for treatment.
