Abstract

An isolated case of Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, Type 1, in a two year old Zimbabwean boy is descriptionbed. The patient presented with failure to thrive and inability to stand. Examination revealed hyperextensibility of the joints and skin, umbilical and inguinal hernias and a perimembranous ventricular septal defect. To the best of our knowledge this is the first pediatric case descriptionbed in the African literature.
