Abstract

A report is given of a radiological survey of miners at the Broken Hill mine in northern Rhodesia. An analysis of the radiological findings made from the survey shows that, as a result of employment at the mine, pulmonary fibrosis does occur among the scheduled employees, but that the risk is very low. A long exposure is required before even minimal abnormal radiological changes are discernible. Abnormal radiological findings other than pneumoconiosis are also recorded.
