Abstract

Two cases of mastocytosis are reported in infants. The first, an African, is of the disseminate, nodular variety. The second, an European, has a solitary mastocytoma with recurrent attacks of generalised flushing. The latter is only the fourth such case to be reported. There is a possible family history in case 1. The father of case 2 has a skin nodule which is subject to regular flushing, yet biopsy showed only naevoid tissue.
