Abstract

Paramonow (1955b) erected form trichroma for a series of specimens which differed from the typical form in the presence of bright orange hairs in the basal half of the white abdominal tuft and in the hairs in front of the scutellum being brighter yellow; all Paramonow's specimens are females, and correspond to what I have labelled as ""yellow form"" in my own collection. The females of this species are polymorphic, as has already been indicated by Hesse, who first contradicted Bezzi's statement that discoideus (analis Fabr. of Bezzi) was very constant in its characters.
