In order to survive, a species must adapt to changes in its environment. So, too, man must adapt to his environment, both external and internal, passing on genes - units of hereditary information - from one generation to the next. Obviously we are unique among all living things, vastly more intelligent and a superior mind able to contemplate the phenomena of nature. A deep gulf separates the high attainment of our species from any other.
