Abstract

Ngugi wa Thiongo is Kenya's best-known author. For quite some time now, he has been writing only in Gikuyu, his mother tongue, which has sharply divided his readers. By rubbing the previous dictatorial regime the wrong way, he was forced to flee the country, and now lives in the USA. He was in Kenya recently, during which time he promoted his latest novel, (Wizard of the Crow).
