Abstract

In recent years, theatre has ceased to be the prerogative of theatre halls only and has moved to unconventional venues like market places, football fields, Fon's palaces, prison yards and even restaurants. That was the case of the performance of , a play created and performed by Masters I students of the Performing Arts and Cinematography Section of the University of Yaounde I on the occasion of ANSOLE DAYS, 2012 in Cameroon. No Bills with the Sun, a play on the challenges and social ramifications of solar energy, was performed to a mix audience of conference participants and restaurant clients who, in addition to savouring an end-of-the-day meal, also savoured all that an African total theatre could offer; dialogue, narration, songs and dance.
