Renewable energies contribute intensively to the protection of the environment in reducing the risk of global warming. However their sources do usually have irregular fluctuations, so that they must be transformed and stored for permanent use. Batteries are indispensable entities for the storage of such energy produced by the renewable energy power stations. A contribution is done through the innovative design of an intelligent device with multiple functions made around a microcontroller PIC16F877. Among others, the designed charge controller is capable of detecting and regulating automatically, the temperature of the surrounding environment, which is a parameter that strongly influences the lifetime of batteries. It ensures the protection of batteries against many annoyances that can occur during the processes of charge and discharge. It also manages the use of the loads. This is what contributes to the rational use of the energy produced.
