n African Journal of Rhetoric - Editorial notes

Volume 4, Issue 1
  • ISSN : 1998-2054

This edition of the African Journal of Rhetoric (AJR) is perhaps the most significant publication that the African Association for Rhetoric has published so far. It is a landmark publication in the sense that it marks the end of the Rhetoric and Democracy Project proposal made to the Faculty of Humanities, Development and Social Sciences in 2006. The Rhetoric and Democracy Project commenced with a conference series in 2007, and thus far, the Association has successfully organised 4 conferences: 2 in Durban (2007, 2009), 1 in Cape Town (2011) and 1 in Nigeria (2012). For each conference since 2009, the Association has published an edition of AJR along the lines of the conference theme and the supplementary online Journal: . In July 2013, the Association will be making a panel presentation at the conference of the International Society for the History of Rhetoric (ISHR).
