Abstract

The name Holstein-Friesian refers to the Friesland cattle bred in the "new world" and now, after many years of careful breeding, they are being exported all over the world. Being of northern hemisphere origin, they are cool-weather animals and particularly susceptible to hot and humid conditions, although they have undergone adaptation, acclimatisation and acclimation.
