Abstract

Nearly every summer, heat stress negatively impacts dairy cow performance, robbing dairy producers of much needed profits. When exposed to extended periods of heat, cows suffer significant reductions in milk production, show poor reproductive efficiency, and increased incidents of health problems such as rumen acidosis, mastitis and laminitis.
