Abstract

Italian and perennial ryegrasses, if planted in spring, will not run to seed through the summer months, providing much needed feed during the late summer / early autumn slump. They can remain vegetative through autumn and winter, producing high quality forage until the subsequent spring, after which they will turn reproductive and run to seed.
