Abstract

The effects of thermal (heat) stress on reproduction of high-yielding dairy cows, are manifested in decreased blood flow to the uterus, debilitating effects on conception rates, duration and expression of oestrus, increased incidence of retained foetal membranes and metritis, and decreased placental and calf birth mass.
