(SUB) is not your usual . It attacks the udder from both the environment during the end of the dry period, as well as from infected cows during milking. It often is resistant to treatment and causes high somatic cell counts for long periods without clinical mastitis. The best chance for effective prevention of SUB mastitis, is good hygiene management of the teat-end during the late dry period.
