Abstract

The reproductive process is governed by the endocrine system. Endocrine glands are ductless glands that secrete hormones directly into the bloodstream. In both the male and female animal, the endocrine system maintains a constant cycle in which hormone production increases or decreases, based on a complex biological feedback mechanism, in such a way as to maintain the optimum physiological environment for reproduction.
