Abstract

Making silage is one of the most cost-effective and practical ways to preserve a bank of nutritious feed for cattle. For dairy cattle the composition and quality of silage is of great importance and it is best to consult a feed expert if you are unsure of the energy and protein content, or how to determine the moisture and dry matter (DM) content of your silage crop.
