Abstract

Artificial insemination, in the most basic sense, involves collecting semen from the bull and manually depositing it into the female's reproductive tract. Over the years, AI-techniques have been perfected to such an extent, that reproductive efficiency in cattle is the same as, or often superior to, that achieved by natural service.
