The Western Cape is the most important cheese-making region in South Africa. It is therefore fitting that it was in this province that the Burgundy / Western Cape Cheese-making Fellowship originated. It is equally fitting that the Western Cape department of agriculture, very specifically through its head, Joyene Isaacs, would put their money where their mouth was and support the industry by initiating and funding this unique fellowhip.
