The international economic situation continued to improve during 2010. In the latest IMF World Economic Outlook (October 2010) it is predicted that the world economy will grow by 4,8% in 2010, substantially up from the October 2009 estimate of 3,4% growth for 2010 and by 4,2% in 2011. Major uncertainties remain in the global economy. Developed countries will have to find ways to reduce their budget deficits without strangling their slowly recovering economies. However, growth in the developed world remains robust and will probaly continue in the next year. World economic growth and growth prospects are given in Figure 1.
