Abstract

In dairy cattle, fertilisation rates following natural mating are similar in lactating and non-lactating cows averaging 76,2% and 78,1% respectively (Santos et al., 2004). In beef cattle the rate averages 75%. There are many factors that contribute to fertilisation failure and we will look at a few of them.
