At the beginning of another summer, the amount of milk (and money) dairy farmers will lose because of heat stress can only be speculated. Heat stress occurs when the environmental temperature, aggravated by high ambient relative humidity levels, rises above dairy cows' comfort zone. Protecting cows against heat stress improves their welfare and production.
