Abstract

Lactose intolerance is a well-known term. It refers to the lack of sufficient lactase enzymes in the body to break down milk sugar (lactose). The term lactose intolerance is often misunderstood and incorrectly treated by avoiding milk and other dairy products. The fact is, dairy products may be part of the daily diet of lactose intolerant people, enabling them to enjoy the benefits of the nutritional advantages of dairy products such as the high-quality protein, B vitamins and calcium.
