Abstract

Livestock theft is a crime defined as a property crime and economical in nature. In theory, according to Clarke and Felson, for this type of crime to be committed, three prominent elements must be present, namely a motivated offender, a suitable target and the absence of a capable guardian. In this article, we will briefly address these three elements.
