Abstract

Industrialisation has caused the food industry to change the techniques used to produce products such as cheese and yoghurt. For the Jewish community, whose members want to stay as close to nature as possible, this poses a unique challenge. Although industrialisation presents great opportunities, the complexity of foodstuffs and ingredients also present significant challenges for the kosher certification process, especially when it comes to delivering super-kosher products of a high standard.
