Abstract

A hundred years ago, a farmer needed a piece of land, a horse, a cart and a cow. Every Friday, the farmer took his produce by cart to the market to sell or trade his goods. Today's farmer must be an accountant, a business manager, a trouble-shooter, a marketer, a labour expert, a mechanic and a logistics mechanist, and at the same time attempt (hopefully succeeding) to grow a crop or manage a dairy herd.
