Abstract

Many scientific studies have shown that providing protein after resistance exercise optimises muscle growth. Dairy products, especially a glass of fresh milk, have a unique protein blend that supports muscle growth. Milk contains slow and rapidly absorbed protein, casein and whey protein, loaded with the muscle-building amino acid, leucine. This means milk supports short- and long-term increases in muscle protein levels.
