Farmers differ greatly from one another; the MPO's annual statutory survey confirms this. Every year, the differences between dairy farmers in terms of herd size, milk yield and other herd parameters astound. Herd sizes range from below 30 to more than 2 000 and milk yield per cow ranges from below 10 litres per cow in milk per day, to more than 40 litres. The same is probably true of their income and costfigures.
