Recently there has been a great deal of debate over decreased milk prices and increased input costs, which has put considerable pressure on even the most efficient of dairy farmers. Since most dairy farmers have little control over milk prices and input costs, it may be time to focus on factors that can be controlled on the dairy farm. Management, management structures and planning are often neglected areas. Improvements in basic management can result in both cost savings and profit.
