Anti-oxidants are natural chemicals which reduce cell damage caused by free radicals, a major cause of disease and ageing. Eating foods high in anti-oxidants, in combination with foods that are high in fibre, protein and other vitamins and minerals, while low in saturated fat and cholesterol are beneficial to one's health.
