Abstract

Supplements are anything fed to horses not contained within the normal dietary range of traditional hard feeds such as oats, maize, barley and beans or manufactured complete feeds or forages, including grazing. Supplements may range from macro- and micro-mineral and vitamin mixes, trace elements and vitamin mixes, antioxidants, blood builders, performance enhancers, immune enhancers, hoof treatments, pre- and probiotics, herbs and spices, and not forgetting electrolytes.
