Abstract

A People Betrayed serves as yet another testimonial that the twentieth century was certainly the most violent period in human history. Not only did humanity witness two world wars, but we also saw the emergence of violent intra-state conflicts, where civilian casualties became the norm. The book narrates the story of the 1994 Rwanda genocide - only one of the many events in Africa which confirmed the extremely violent nature of the twentieth century.
